Athens Pizza in Stamford, CT

One of my passions is food… and who can resist the fabulous Greek / Italian restaurant in Stamford, CT (1975 West Main Street) called Athens Pizza.  They have been around since 1977 and make the most delicious chicken souvlaki, moussaka, stuffed peppers, meatball subs, pizzas and greek salads.  On my last visit, I brought my camera to show you some of my favorite dishes.  If you are in the area, this is a definite must go!  And if you live in the area, they deliver (Athens Pizza’s number is 348-4997… trust me, after these photos you will be calling!).

I love Greek Salads, but Athens Pizza’s Greek Salad is always especially fresh with their perfectly spiced house dressing and a huge chunk of feta cheese.  If you get any of the Greek Entrees (like the chicken souvlaki or moussaka or stuffed peppers) then get the full platter with the french fries and salad, it is the best deal!

The chicken souvlaki is made fresh when you order it (so it may take a few moments, but it is totally worth it!).  The chicken is perfectly grilled on skewers and served with fresh warm pita triangles and tzatziki sauce (also homemade and excellent):

The fries at Athens Pizza are always fresh, served piping hot, perfectly golden with a crisp outside and a delicious soft inside:

I am partial to mushroom pizzas, but the truth is that any and all of their pizza are fabulous.  I especially recommend ordering a pizza if you eat at Athens Pizza, because it is really the best when they serve it to you all bubbly and hot straight from the oven!:
